Who is Rich Mullins?
Rich Mullins was a successful Christian Music talent who lived out his ethics, spoke truth with his life, and poured his life experiences into his songs. He was a musician, songwriter, composer, poet, writer, and philanthropist. Rich Mullins' endorsed biography, An Arrow Pointing to Heaven, can be purchased here. A compilation of articles Richard Mullins authored for Release Magazine, entitled The World as I Remember It: Through the Eyes of a Ragamuffin, can be purchased on Amazon.
What is Singing from Silence about?
I owed Richard a huge creative debt when he died. It took me a long time to come to the point of being able to write about him.
The first book I wrote about Richard is called Singing from Silence. It's about our friendship.
It was published on April 11, 2012. There are some excerpts from Singing from Silence on this site.
For ten years, I had the privelege to share in Richard Mullins' creative process, which, like him, was unique. I've been writing a little book on the subject. A book rather than a blog, not because my writing is so great, but because I think the subject deserves serious consideration. The working title is Let the Mountains Sing. It is intended for those who miss him like I do, or who would like a better understanding of his creative process. I have no illusion that I will ever be able to pay back the debt I owe. Which still doesn't excuse me from doing whatever I can to return the gift.
The other book I'm writing about my friend is called Walk Through the Valley. I have felt an urgency to write about Rich Mullins, St. Francis, the Beatitudes, and healing following my stroke in Sept 2012. I'm not Catholic, so I hope no one who is finds offense in my interest in St. Francis. Richard admired St. Francis and spoke of him often, so I can hardly envision a painting complete picture of Richard without referring to his favorite reflection of Christ. I expect this book to be out in 2017.

Where can I hear Rich Mullins' music?
Where are Rich Mullins' lyrics?
You can find Richard's lyrics all over the internet. I don't quote them directly here out of respect for his copyright. He was known for his generosity with his work. I know he'd be happy to give me permission, but it's no longer up to him.
Did this really happen?
Yes.
Why do you call Rich Mullins "Richard?"
When we met, he asked me to call him Richard. So I do.
